Better Together—A Vision for Brookhaven's Future
This week, Mayor John Park delivered the 2025 State of the City address at the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce luncheon, and the message was clear: Brookhaven is building forward—together.
From transformative projects like the City Centre to the continued expansion of the Peachtree Creek Greenway, Mayor Park emphasized that our city's strength lies in its people, progress, and shared vision. Whether you're a resident, business owner, or daily visitor, we all play a role in shaping Brookhaven’s future.
So here’s to moving forward with purpose, staying connected, and continuing to make Brookhaven a place where everyone can thrive.

Community Heroes: Brookhaven Code Enforcement— Protecting Our Neighborhood Standards
This week, we’re shining a spotlight on a team that quietly but powerfully shapes the quality of life in Brookhaven: our Code Enforcement Unit.
Working under the Community Development Department, this team ensures that neighborhoods are safe, healthy, and well-maintained by upholding city ordinances related to property upkeep, signage, zoning, and more. From abandoned vehicles to overgrown lots, they’re the eyes and ears protecting our public spaces and preserving the beauty of our city.
Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is visible every day. Clean streets, compliant businesses, and thriving neighborhoods don’t happen by accident, they happen because of professionals like our code enforcement officers.
Let’s give a huge thank you to this dedicated team for their commitment to keeping Brookhaven beautiful, livable, and safe for all.
P.S - They have a new location. They are now located at 2665 Buford Hwy.

Traffic Safety Tips: MOVE OVER!
Did you know that traffic crashes are one of the leading causes of death for law enforcement officers in the line of duty? It’s not just a tip—it’s the law.
Georgia’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move over one lane when approaching emergency or utility vehicles stopped on the side of the road. If you can’t move over safely, slow down below the posted speed limit and proceed with caution.
This small action can prevent tragedy and protect the lives of those who serve and respond. Let’s work together to keep our roads safe—for you, for us, and for every worker out there doing their job.

Crime Prevention
Abandoned Vehicles
Abandoned vehicles aren’t just an eyesore—they can become magnets for criminal activity. Whether it’s an old car left on the street or a vehicle parked for weeks without moving, these unattended cars can reduce neighborhood safety and property values.
Here’s how you can help:
Know the Signs: A vehicle may be considered abandoned if it's inoperable, missing parts (like wheels or plates), or hasn’t moved in several days.
Report It: If you notice an abandoned or suspicious vehicle in your neighborhood, report it to our non-emergency line or use the Brookhaven Connect app. Our team will investigate and take appropriate action.
Keep Your Property Clear: Avoid letting unused or broken vehicles sit in driveways or on lawns. Proper upkeep of your property helps maintain the safety and appearance of your community.
Let’s keep Brookhaven looking sharp and feeling safe—together.
Brookhaven Strong
In a world that glorifies hustle, choosing to rest is radical.
Rest isn’t laziness—it’s leadership. It’s what allows your mind to reset, your body to heal, and your purpose to stay sharp. Whether you're a parent, a public servant, a student, or a neighbor doing your part—your well-being matters.
This week, give yourself permission to slow down. Not because you’re weak, but because you know your strength is sustained in stillness.

Have a Question? We’ve Got Answers!
This section answers questions submitted by our community. Here’s one we received recently:
Q: I noticed lower speed limits on roads like North Druid Hills and Briarwood—what’s going on?
A: Great observation! Brookhaven recently reduced speed limits on key corridors such as North Druid Hills Rd, Briarwood Rd, and Clairmont Rd. The goal? To make our roads safer and more pedestrian-friendly. These updates follow a city-wide traffic study and align with Vision Zero strategies to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Slower speeds save lives, especially in areas with high foot and bicycle traffic.
